Intel have decided that selling CPU’s at their true speed is bad for business. What they want you to do now is buy a restricted chip in a PC then pay more money to get the true speed back. So you get a CPU that can officially do 3Ghz, but software limited to say 2Ghz. Want the extra 1Ghz? That will be $50 please!
So, whats next? I hard drive that can store 1Tb data, but software limited to 500Gb? BluRay movies where the extras are “extra”?
Got BT broadband at home? Don’t mind being tied to a new contract? Then BT have an offer for you – free fiber upgrades. What this will give you is fantastic speeds, but only 40Gb up/download limit a month! That is very low considering how fast you could use it up!

Launched last month in the USA, Facebook’s FourSquare killer application has launched for users in the UK. Currently availablethrough the Facebook iPhone application, you can check in to popular places to let your friends know where you are.
Facebook promise that this is secure and you can customize who sees what updates and locations. Hopefully this means people wont be able to scour Facebook to find your not home! Time to ensure your contents insurance is up to date I think
