VINCENT WILLCOX :: A PERSONIAL BIO
Well, lets start at the begining. I’m Vincent (or Vince) and I am 30 years old. I live in Milton Keynes and like the mixture of things to do around town including getting out of it once in a while via any means possible!
I enjoy spending time with my family and going out to watch a movie or two. When I’m not out and about you will normally find me sitting in front of my computer surfing the web or trying to take over the world from in front of it.
I have previously worked full time as an IT Consultant making sure the HR and Pension systems don’t blow up or delete everybody’s details. During this work 1 week a month I also handled the call out for these systems.
I also enjoy spending time doing website coding, but can’t design a website to save my life – so thanks for google and the search string “personal website templates”.
Work Life
During the day (and several evenings a month) I support a large Human Resources system powered by Oracle Peoplesoft, a Pension system called Compendia and a data tool called Datastage.
This requires a wide range of skills, from being able to identify the problem with minimal prior information and then being able to quickly work on a solution. This could include rewriting peoplecode, SQR, SQL or talking with the vendor and providing information so they can provide a packaged solution.
The reason I sometimes work evenings is that I also support the batch processes that export and import data into all of the above systems!

Home Life
During the evening, I will either be watching TV, playing games on the PS3, XBOX360, PC, writing code for several websites (including my own) or taking phone calls from friends and family helping with their technical problems and queries (nothing like bringing your work home with you!).
I enjoy helping with back end coding of websites in languages like PHP, ASP, SQL, CSS, HTML and XML.
I help run a hosting site called Aconda Solutions and have coded the entire sites systems including the customer billing system, customer management system and email reminder systems. This is coded in PHP with a MySQL database running on a UNIX server
I also enjoy playing poker with my brothers who currently live just round the corner from me. This does normally involve a late night and a few beers – but does allow me to let my hair down after a long time at work.
