This is a rather simple app but one I know people could use.

Ever been in a meeting, on the bus or other activity and want to know when a perticualr length of time has past? 10 minutes, 20 minutes an hour?
Well that is what this app will do for you.

It will have an on screen widget showing how long till the next event and will vibrate when you event timer is due.

This is an early view of the application. Not all options are in place and the widget is still in basic format.

If you use Spotify, you may have noticed you have the option to share your playlists with others. In the past this has typically required people to go back to Spotify to listen to it.

But now you have another option. Dubbed the “Spotify Play Button” it allows you to embed a Spotify player in your posts, pages, websites and other places.

If you have Spotify you will see a player above. This is one of the playlists I have setup in my Spotify. The downside is that users without Spotify see nothing. Nada nowt.

Would be better if people without would still get something to do, but until then – this is a good feature that could be a lot better!

Android App Recommendations: Read my thoughts on some of my favourite application from the Android Market Place. Titanium Backup, HulloMail and GO Launcher EX.

Titanium Backup

This application allows you to backup your entire phone contents, applications and settings to an SD card and to the internet via one of the online storage drives available. The only draw back is that you need to be rooted to use this app in anyway as the sections it is backing up are normally locked away.

Titanium Backup ★ root
<img src="http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=130x130&chld=L|1&chl=market://search?q=pname:com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup" style="float:left;" border:1px solid #ededed;" title="Scan or click to download" />

HulloMail

HulloMail lets you listen too and mange your voice mails like music tracks on your Android. They are delivered as data packet downloaded MP3′s to your phone to listen to at will via the app. You can also listen online from any internet machine and browser.

The subscription version adds a much needed extra feature where you can set different Outgoing messages (OGM’s) for individuals or groups.Phone split between work and personal life? Well – tell your work your on holiday while family get a more personal message!

HulloMail Free SmartVoice...
<img src="http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=130x130&chld=L|1&chl=market://search?q=pname:com.hullomail.messaging.android" style="float:left;" border:1px solid #ededed;" title="Scan or click to download" />

GO Launcher EX

This launcher replacement is one of the nicest I have found and fullest featured. Best of all – it is available for FREE. The developers instead make money through premium themes and add-ons (not needed in anyway to get the best out of the app).

Some of the available free GO Widgets extend the Launcher and help keep the look and feel consistent (something normally hard to achieve with other launchers).

GO Launcher EX
<img src="http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=130x130&chld=L|1&chl=market://search?q=pname:com.gau.go.launcherex" style="float:left;" border:1px solid #ededed;" title="Scan or click to download" />

I have decided to go through my blog and clean it up a little and and some new features.

I am now using Facebook connect to allow people to interact with my blog posts. What does this mean to you I hear you all cry (OK – maybe not)? Facebook connect allows you to post comments on my blog under your Facebook account. It also enables faster sharing if you think one of my posts is interesting or useful.

For me – it lets me interact with you on a more one to one level as I will see comments on my Facebook feeds.

So for now – enjoy the added options of interaction. I will be adding some G+ integration soon as well.

After installing this application, I found some old copies of Windows 3.1 and copied the install files over to my phones SD Card and fired up.

One of my favorite features is swype.
Swype is a method of typing on a phone fast and easily.

This has upped my typing speed massively on the phone.

I have been able to find all the apps and games I could want with little exception.

The phone does feel a lot faster than the iphone and is nicer to hold even though it is bigger.

The oled screen is bright even in sunlight.

It does get got when I play some heavy 3d games but so did the iphone.

So I am very happy with it.
